21 Easy Homemade School Lunchbox Ideas

By Chioma 19 Comments

Thinking of what should be in your kid’s lunchbox can be a challenge especially if you don’t want them going to school everyday with the same food or sandwich in their bag. It will definitely be boring for them and i bet they come home and dump that uneaten meal for you.

Here are 21 Easy Homemade School Lunchbox Ideas that you can try this school season. They are all simple and will make school lunch worth enjoying for your kids. Remember that your child’s lunchbox should consist of the following to make a balanced meal;

  • Starchy food like rice, potatoes, yam, plantain or pasta.
  • Protein, for example eggs, beans, meat, chicken or fish.
  • Dairy products like cheese, milk, yogurt.
  • Vegetables and fruits.

With this guide at the back of your mind, you can make a healthy meal choice for your child. Don’t forget that these food groups can also be combined in one meal rather than made separately. For example, pancake contains starch (flour, yam, plantain), protein (egg), dairy (milk or yogurt) and sometimes vegetables and fruits. Click the respective foods to view the recipes which i’ve broken down into cooked meals, pancakes, snacks and sandwiches.
