How to make Beef Puree for Baby

By Chioma

beef pureeBeef or red meat  is packed with proteins, vitamins and minerals. It is a rich source of iron for babies especially as a first food from 6 months up because at this age, the iron stored in their body from birth starts to deplete, so it is ideal to introduce foods that will help maintain it.

The iron in beef is one that is easily absorbed by babies and as they need it for the proper development of the brain. It should form an essential part of their diet and turning it into a puree is a better way of feeding it to babies. For older babies that are able to chew, you can cook the beef to be very soft, then shred it for easy chewing. Preserve the stock and use it to make other baby foods.

Beef puree can be given alone to baby or better still combined with other food, vegetable and fruit purees like rice, potatoes, plantain, carrots etc.
