Avocado-Ketchup Dip

By Chioma

Avocado and Ketchup mixed to get yummy kid-friendly dip

Children love ketchup a lot especially as a dip for finger foods like potato chips, yam and other finger foods because of it’s sweetness. My toddler will lick all of it with one chip on her hand but would not touch my pureed avocado as a dip, so i went to work.

I added avocado to the store bought ketchup which i used to serve her lunch. Avocado is a very healthy fruit for kids and this is a very good way of adding it to your picky eater’s plate. You can find other avocado recipes on the blog and get your babies and bigger children to enjoy it . Adults can as well enjoy this delicious and nutritious dip.

Avocado- Ketchup Dip Recipe

Ingredients

  • ½ of a ripe Avocado
  • Ketchup
  • Honey (optional and not for babies less than one year old)

Method

  1. Scoop avocado into an bowl and mash. Scoop into a small strainer/sieve and using a spoon, mash it around and press to get a smoother into a bowl.
  2. Add the quantity of ketchup you want and honey too (if using)
  3. Mix together and serve.

** I did not use a blender or food processor because the quantity i made was not much. You can use the gadgets if you want by just dumping all the ingredients and blending them together. But this is more like series of popular online friv games than what is described above.
