Green Beans Puree with Chicken

Green beans is nutritionally versatile and this combination with chicken and grains makes it a more filling meal for babies.

Ingredients
  • 8-12 stalks fresh green beans
  • 2-5 pieces small diced chicken breast
  • ¼ small chopped onion
  • 1 clove chopped garlic
  • ½ small chopped tomato
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 tbsp couscous or rice
  • Water for cooking
Method
  1. Make couscous in a bowl by poring boiling water on it, cover and allow to soak well for about 3-5 minutes or boil rice until done. Set aside.
  2. Place chicken breast in a pot. Add onion, garlic, tomato, oil and 1 cup of water, then cook for about 10-15 minutes till chicken is cooked.
  3. Cut the tips and ends of the green beans, wash and chop into pieces. add to the chicken and allow to cook for a further 2-3 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and puree with a hand blender with the couscous or rice until smooth.
