Soyabeans as we popularly call it (as against Soybeans) is a plant protein that is different from other plant foods. It contains unique proteins, essential amino acids and other nutrients that are very important for the growth and development of children. Soyabeans’ high protein content can be compared to the ones found in animal proteins and this makes it a superfood that can really be used to replace milk, meat and other dairy requirement when occasion calls for it.
Adding soyabeans in baby and kids meal can add variety as well as nutrition to their diet. In Nigeria, the most common way we add soya to our diet is in the powdered form. Dry soyabeans seeds are preferably soaked, dried and roasted first before it is grinded to a powder. If you are buying soyabeans powder in the market, ensure you look well and be sure it is whole soya beans powder without any additives NOT soyamilk. It is best if you can prepare it yourself, especially when you are not sure of your source.
I added some fruit puree in this recipe to ensure that taste is not sacrificed in the bid for a healthy diet. Soyabeans blends with most foods, provides fibre to kids diet and is also a very cost-effective ingredient that you should not overlook.

I tried this over the weekend but with Apple as the fruit and it purged him. I am wondering what I did wrong.
Chioma says
Hi Chidinma, this may be caused by different things. You can speak with your doctor if it is severe, otherwise check if there’s one of the ingredients that the body does not tolerate as well as your hygiene when preparing baby food. Also it may not be anything and he will adjust next time he is fed.
